Ho’oponopono is an ancient Hawaiian art of troubleshooting. It can definitely change your life, freeing you from those thoughts that make you feel bitter and fill your mind with worries.

Through Ho’oponopono, you’ll be able to be yourself and maintain a a closer connection to the universe. You’ll take responsibility for everything that happens in your life and give that higher power permission to bring you everything that is right and perfect for you. But how do we put the practice of letting go into action? Among all the tools available, one of the most striking is that of the Ho’oponopono glass of water.

The Ho’oponopono Glass of Water Ritual

Aside from the fact that water is an element healer and purifier By nature, we don't use the Ho’oponopono glass of water not for the water itself or to solve the problem once and for all, but so that we can be at peace. Trying to understand or having expectations interrupts the process of letting go. We all have intentions, but we must be open and receptive to what the universe presents to us.

In Ho’oponopono, we use a glass, any color, and fill it with water up to three quarters (not all the way to the top). We can change the water in the morning and at night, and whenever we need to. We do this as a way to let go, surrender, and give the Divine permission to transform, so that we can return to the present moment and be in balance.

This is one of the tools that helps us clean 24 hours a day. There will be many times when we won't remember to clean, or when we'll be arguing or trying to prove a point, but with the Ho’oponopono glass of water At home, at least part of us will be cleaning, letting go.

You can have one glass at home and another at work. You can have more than one. Let your imagination run wild.

We use the a glass of water in Ho’oponopono by ourselves. When we use any Ho’oponopono tool, what is cleared from you is cleared from others as well—from your relatives, family members, and ancestors. This is the best way to help ourselves and others.

An important clarification regarding the glass of water is that God did not say to place anything under or next to the glass, but people, in their practice, began to use it according to their own inspiration—for example, placing a photo or a piece of paper underneath with the address of a property we want to sell, or the name of a difficult person in our life, or for some other specific reason. Remember, you, too, should follow your own inspiration and do whatever your heart tells you to do.

The glass of water is a Ho’oponopono tool that can help you let go of the past 24 hours. Are you ready to try it? Of course, do it without any expectations.

There really isn't a specific place where you have to put the glass to perform this technique. The only requirement is that it be in a spot that's comfortable for you and doesn't bother you in any way. You can put it wherever you want.

How often should the water be changed?

As I mentioned earlier, it’s best to change the water in the morning when you wake up and at night before going to sleep. That said, it all depends on your situation. You can change the water as often as you like to put your mind at ease.
