The History of IHALEAKALÁ HEW LEN

Dr. Hew Len made history by bringing this ancient Hawaiian art to the criminal patients’ ward at the Hawaii State Hospital, where he had been called to work. Most of the professionals hired there either resigned shortly afterward or called in sick, stating that the environment was very hostile and that interacting with the incarcerated patients was very difficult.

The truth is that Dr. Ihaleakalá Hew Len He never treated patients in the conventional way—by interviewing them—but instead studied their medical records, and while doing so, he practiced Ho’oponopono at least two or three times a day.

After a few months of working there, observing, and practicing Ho’oponopono—in other words, asking the Divine heal shared memories With these people, the results were astonishing. Patients who had been confined to their beds were able to walk freely; others were able to reduce the doses of painkillers they were taking; and some who never thought they would be able to leave were discharged.

The change in the work of Ho’oponopono by Dr. Ihaleakalá This was reflected not only in the patients but also in the employees, who began to enjoy their work, while absenteeism and high staff turnover disappeared.

Dr. Ihaleakalá Hew Len traveled around the world teaching the Ho’oponopono technique, which consists of taking 100% responsibility and surrendering it to God, to allow Him to transmute memories of suffering—most of which come from past lives or our ancestors.

Ho’oponopono and Ihaleakalá Hew Len

The ancient Hawaiian art of Ho’oponopono is a powerful process of release and forgiveness, where we free ourselves from toxic memories that keep replaying in our subconscious mind.

As Ihaleakalá said in one of his last messages—The sole purpose of your life and mine is the restoration of our identity… our mind: returning to its original state of emptiness or zero (Buddha), of purity of heart (Jesus), and of to be blank (Shakespeare) through ceaseless cleansing.

Dr. Ihaleakalá Hew Len It taught us that every time we do our part—by giving God permission (letting go)—He does His part (transmuting), and magic happens. Ho’oponopono is too easy, so the intellect dismisses it. People often say it doesn’t work! Ihakeakalá always said that if we knew what happens every time we say “thank you” or “I love you” (Ho’oponopono trigger words), we wouldn’t stop doing it.

Reflection by Ihaleakala Hew Len

In an interview in which I had the privilege of speaking with Dr. Hew Len for a while, I asked him whether he would benefit personally from teaching and helping others through Ho’oponopono.

He gave me a very interesting answer. You have to be careful when teaching anything, since the other person may not be ready. We must move away from the belief that we are here to save people. People should not teach this art; if they use it, it should be for themselves; it must to come out from within each of us.
